Charger Band Families,
On FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7, selected members of the CHARGER MARCHING BAND and DANCE TEAM will represent Jeffersontown High School at the 2011 YUM! BRANDS “FOUNDER’S DAY FOOD” DRIVE. Our students will appear on LIVE TV as featured performers on the WHAS11 “GOOD MORNING KENTUCKIANA” & the WHAS11 “GREAT DAY LIVE” morning news broadcasts.
In addition to performing at this event, we also plan to bring in 14 CANS per student to help YUM! BRANDS reach and exceed their goal of collecting 14,000 POUNDS OF CANNED GOODS throughout the community.
If you or your family would like to contribute cans to this great cause, please feel free to bring canned goods to the JHS BAND ROOM no later than 5TH PERIOD ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6.

“Founder’s Food Drive”
14 Years As A Company – 14,000 Pounds of Food
YUM! Brands celebrate 14th anniversary as a company, it’s more apparent than ever that they are building The Defining Global Company That Feeds The World. As part of that vision, we want to be A Company With A Huge Heart…. truly caring and saving lives. While World Hunger Relief is our global effort to end hunger, we need to remember that it all starts here in our own community. One in five children in Kentuckiana is at risk of going to bed hungry tonight. That’s why again this year; we are celebrating our 14th year as a company with a very special challenge.
On Friday, October 7th, -- our official founding as the world’s largest restaurant company, YUM! will host its Founder’s Food Drive, from 5 am - 2pm from the Yum! Campus on Gardiner Lane to help with our mission of Collecting 14,000 POUNDS for 14 Years of YUM! WHAS GMK will be LIVE from 5am-7am and GREAT DAY LIVE will be on Campus from 9am – 10am-Come get on camera!
J-Town High School Band and Dance Team will be on hand getting the crowds and cars FIRED UP!
We are asking every YUM! Associate and the PUBLIC to bring in 14 canned goods to help meet our goal of 14,000 pounds of canned goods collected for those in need!
